Conchords debut at #3

Wow! After an impressive debut on itunes at #1 , Yahoo music reports the Conchords’ latest album debuted at #3 behind Leona Lewis at #2 and Mariah Carey at #1! According to the Chortle article, the Conchords are the most “successful New Zealand act to hit the billboard charts.” They bested Crowded House’s 1986 No 12 hit. (Again I say Wow!)

Here is a quote from Yahoo that makes me insanely happy

It’s the highest ranking for a comedy album since Steve Martin’s A Wild And Crazy Guy logged six weeks at #2 in late 1978 and early 1979. It’s also the highest-debuting comedy album ever, topping Dane Cook’s Retaliation, which debuted (and peaked) at #4 in August 2005.

And to that I say Woo-Hoo! AND they beat out Ashlee Simpsons’ new one.

In NZ, they were #2..what?
In Canada, the CD debuted at No. 34.
