Just tying up some loose ends before I step away from the Conchords news desk for the holidays.
Congratulations to Rhys for winning two awards at the 2007 NZ Comedy Guild Awards! He won “Best Onscreen Comedy Performance” and he beat out the Conchords for “The Kevin Smith Memorial Trophy for Artist Achievement”.

Loren Horsley has a nice article in the Herald Sun. She so impressed me in Eagle vs Shark. I went to the film to see Jemaine as Jarrod, but I fell in love with Lily. If you haven’t seen Eagle vs Shark yet do yourself a favor and rent it when it comes out on dvd or better yet, BUY it this January!
Adore her at heraldsun.com.au

Ok, I’ve admitted to my nerdish leanings in the past and this confirms it. Whilst reading engadget.com I came across this gem (jem).
Recycl-o-sort: not a part of foreplay, but still very important
Even casual fans of Jemaine Clement could appreciate the Recycl-o-sort — after all, it’s hard to deny the vitalness of sorting out the recycling. In that spirit, a team of MIT students concocted a prototype that automatically sifts through recyclables and deposits them into the appropriate bin depending on makeup.

Maureen Ryan from the Chicago Tribune Blog named the Conchords HBO series one of her top 10 TV shows of the year. I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen many of the other top ten-ers, there are just so many shows and so little time..

And finally, TVNZ has Eagle vs Shark at number 4 of their Top Ten movies of 2007. What, what, what?? Beating it out of the top spot were 300 (never saw it), The Bourne Ultimatum (loved it) and at number 1, Transformers (???). I admit I was dragged to the movie twice this year and i was fairly entertained but NUMBER 1?? Maybe I’m just getting too old. ![]()

That’s all from here. I wish all our readers a very Happy Holiday and a Wonderful New Year!

I have been searching everywhere to trying to find those silly mousepads featured in the first (maybe) show of Flight of the Conchords. My best friend in Barcelona is completely in love with this program and if my roommate says “I´m the mutha flippin” again I will probably choke him. Either way, those mouse pads are what Im looking for and Im hoping that someone has thought of actually making and selling them. Any information on this?
Also, thanks for providing a way for every english speaker I know to have common grounds in at least one area. Business socks are now cause for laughter and the hophopipotomus whose rhymes are bottomless… makes everyone laugh and get along for a while. Thats enough to win us all over.
