Woo-Hoo! I don’t have it physically in my hands yet but I know it is traveling quickly to me. Has anyone received their CD? Well, I’m off to sit by the window “will-ing” the package to come. (Because of tracking numbers I know it’s coming tomorrow but I can still hope.)

I haven’t gotten it just yet as i’m going on a trip to the states and hope to find a copy there, if not when i return i will order it. But question: how many songs are on the cd ?

I’m under the impression that it is only 4 songs after reading a review on it, thats’ part of the reason i want to buy it in the states seeing that on the american sites it is selling for a meer $4.50 while over here it’s $15.00 not like i don’t have 15.00 bucks to spare but if it is only four songs why not get it for 4.50? . When you get it let me know how many songs are on it and if you like ir or not
Hi Livvia,
I don’t have my copy yet but here is what Subpop has as the track listings:
Business Time
If You’re Into It
Not Crying
The Most Beautiful Girl in the Room (Live)
Banter (Live)
Robots (Live)
I don’t have any good music stores near me or I would have it in my greedy little hands by now.
But rest assured I will definitely report back as soon as I get my copy!
:)nicole
I preordered mine via amazon.com….that’s how nerdy I am. I hope i get it ASAP so I can blast it all up in my sixy saturn ion
hands up, who else is a nerd!
yeah, i pre-ordered mine from amazon AND i ordered a second copy from Subpop. So, that’s pretty sad.

Let me know Maggie what you think of it!

Speaking of the whole America and the rest of the world thing, I’m here in the U.S. and can’t find the BBC series or Folk the World ANYWHERE!!!
Would anybody be interested in tracking down copies to sell to me? And if so, do you know whether they would play here in the States (or are there regions as in DVD’s?) If not, wanna’ sell me a CD player too? Wait, would it plug into American sockets? If not, could you maybe buy me a house or at least a wall or somemthing that has an appropriate electrical outlet and send it as well? I’ll pay top dollar!
Even though I have dozens of tracks downloaded from some of the fan sites, I’m desperate for more Conchords and would LOVE to get my hands on all I can.
Patiently awaiting word from someone willing to do my international bidding.
Robo
Damn, Robo….I hope the conchords appreciate how loyal you are to them! Good luck with all that
Robo,
All i could find was on ebay but i’ll keep looking.
:)nicole
It is the year 2000. The future is quite different than the present.
OK, so I just ordered Folk the World and the BBC radio series from smokecds.com. I had lost an auction for the radio series on ebay and another bidder sent me a message tipping me off to the NZ site that ships worldwide (and MUCH cheaper than ebay!).
Now let’s just hope they’ll play in my CD player!
Robo Boogie, there are no regions on CD’s like there are on DVD’s, so they will play fine anywhere.
Enjoy them.
Woohoo! That’s excellent news Sherlock! And the CD makers of the world are really relieved right now because if there had been a non-US region, I’d have gone Robo on all of them, because I’m tired of all the mutha uckers uckin with my Conchord shi.
They’re gonna’ wake up in a smoothie.
I’m so happy you were able to get it Robo!!! I was about to ask if you bought it from SmokeCds.. Didn’t you see the links in the Buy Stuff section? I think I need to go update that since audible.com no longer sells the BBC series..hmm..
Anyway, it’s a huge relief that you ordered it, I would hate to see mankind wake up in a smoothie. (The smoothie line is one of my favorites!)
:)nicole
Thank you Sherlock for calming the Robo Rage!
The smoothie line might just be my favorite from any Conchords song thus far.
I like the line where you can’t understand ANYTHING he says, but then he says …….mango. Is it bad that instead of getting nasty MTV hits stuck in my head, I get Conchord’s stuff stuck in my head? Is this unnatural? The other day I kept singing “all the hotties at the parties feeling naughty shake their boobies yea…..who likes to rock the party?”
OMG, you know my secret shame! I literally walk around the office all day singing Conchords tunes. My co-workers all think I’m nuts (except for one, who I’ve successfully converted…Mel would be SO proud!) walking around signing about racist dragons (and grocers); business socks; robotic uprisings; mangos, Granny Smiths and smoothies; magical bling bling; kabobs; David Bowie’s nipple antennae; baggetts (uh…huh baggetts); the girl with the fish; dead budgies; badly burned Albanian boys; Police Academy 4; overpriced sneakers made by slave kids; lasagna for one; paper dolls; boom boom booming to the break of boom; registered rhymnacologists; being lewd with two dudes with food; considering second-hand underpants; pants paradise…and, well, you get the point I guess.
I’m glad that
a. I’m not COMPLETELY nuts and others sing aloud the classics of the Conchords
and
b. that you’ve converted people to the Conchordian way! Mel would totally be proud of me….I’ve spread the word to 5 other people. They love them! I can’t take all the credit though….a lot of people have heard of them without my mentioning. I think the boys are getting big!
we now officially can say (without the giggles)
“Flight of the Conchords….you’re so BIG!!!”
UPDATE: I went to my local Barnes & Noble Bookstore to buy The Distant Future on Saturday and was informed that the CD was on backorder because it had sold “way more” than Subpop had expected. And once the world sees our boys in those tiny leather suits, they’ll sell even more. I may not get my copy until Christmas!
Hey Robo,
I just noticed that itunes added track 5 to the CD. So, you can now buy the complete CD. Here is the link. The price is $5.94US.
:)nicole
Oh, I’d already bought it at iTunes. I just wanted a real copy of the CD as well. (Just doing my part for the cause.)
Also, I was in a bar on Friday night and they had a bunch of baseball games on the TVs but one was on one of the late night talkshows (Leno or Letterman) and the Conchords were on. I made them switch the volume over and folks at the bar really enjoyed it. I spent 10 minutes afterwards telling a group of about 15 folks everything I knew about FoTC.
Again, Mel would be proud.
Robo,
Forget Mel! I’m proud! And it was Letterman. I was kinda surprised to see the re-run so soon but I’m not complaining!
