Aye, Dios Mio! I live in LA and am, unfortunately, entirely too familiar with the evolution of up-and-coming “celebrities” once they realize how famous they really are. The fact that the papparazzi is (reportedly) already zoning in on Jemaine worries me a great deal. This town ruins almost everyone who buys into its hype. It’s a vicious cycle: up-and-coming performers need press exposure in order to get the roles they want, but the more press exposure they recieve, the less credible/valuable they become to their original fans and the general public.

If any of you are in contact with Bret and/or Jemaine, PLEASE advise them to ignore everything their LA publicist/manager is telling them, and advise them to just keep doing what they do best. And if they want to go out to eat at a fancy resturant, tell them to go to the Valley or the beach. Avoid Beverly Hills, Hollywood (and possibly even Silver Lake and North Hollywood) venues like the plague!

I swear, I don’t know what I will do if these guys start clubbing and becomming part of the LA celebrity scene. I will for sure lose all hope for the future of humanity. Beyond that, I can’t say.

They need to get back to New Zealand where people politely ignore their celebrities.

Run Guys! Get home before the crazy Americans change you. Personally, I’d rather have you safe and happy, wherever that may be, even if it means I don’t get to see you again. Ouch.

I cannot agree with Shannonhills enough. Yes, Hollywood and Beverly Hills etc. ruin people….I too am fearful that the BS there will influence these guys, run, Jemaine, run as fast as you can, take a hint from Johnny Depp…..get out of there while you can, although, West LA is kinda cool in spots, anyone want to know more just ask me….

Actually I really meant West Hollywood, there are plenty of hiding places…and cool ‘going out and being totally left alone’ places

Well, I think in one article it was mentioned that one was living in Silver Lake and the other in West Hollywood, but who knows if the media can be trusted ever to get the facts right. In any case, I see the two living on break back in NZ and when filming in LA or NY.. oh and in another article it was mentioned that Jemaine didn’t want to live in the US and preferred to be home in NZ. I know the evils of Hollywood are indisputable but I am filled with optimistic hope that the guys have a firm head on their shoulders and will be able to avoid corruption. But maybe I am just being naive..
