 BAND ROTUNDA TOUR SCHEDULE - DAY 1

WELCOME______________TO THE FIRST BAND ROTUNDA TOUR.

DRESS: as we will be walking i would recommend some light shorts and a cotton top. Also bring jacket for the evening. And water and snacks. (nothing too loud - no apples bret). Actually that should have come under equipment.

EQUIPMENT: notebook and pen. Also pencil for sketching. Camera (must borrow, ask Bret) Wrist watch for timing. (no doubt will have that on all ready but check.) Also see above for water and snacks. (also a note for you there bret about the apples)

DAY ONE:  ROTUNDAS OF BROOKLYN

INTEREST TOPIC: note the difference between rotundas, gazeebos and bandshells.

START: leave Daves at 1600hrs

ROTUNDA 1: PROSPECT PARK

ARRIVAL TIME: 1900hrs (allow time for getting lost)

TYPE: shell

YEAR: 1960

USAGE: outdoor music gig and public speaking.

NOTES: got lost so arrived late. was a bit dark to get a great look but the shape certainly stood out amongst the trees in the moonlight. One of NYCs most popular bandshells, as many as five gigs plus happen here most summers i believe. i can see why its a great stage. The guys will be upset they didn’t see this one, i could imagine them playing here one summer. Flash on camera not working so drew a sketch. Heard a possible ridicule as i was walking back to my car.
