As for Conchords, I have wanted to blog this: they have this recurrent joke where they give you just enough information, whether verbally or within the frame, and then they dribble out just a little extra and that’s the joke (for example, “I think it was that, and also that I dated her for, like, six months.”). This has become pervasive from a spatial standpoint in recent weeks, with camera angles that don’t show some other person at the table (Bret with Jemaine and the mugger) or in the apartment (the guy subletting Jemaine’s room) or in front of Koko’s house (Jemaine telling him “kiss her”). It’s the same joke but it always seems to work anyway.
