Philly Show photos and report

Here are some great photos from Daarkraine who made a cute shirt that the Conchords signed. She also was able to get ALL of the autographs from The Phoenix Foundation. What a lucky girl! Thank you so much Daarkraine for letting me post this!Update: Daarkraine’s blog about the night explains why I love the Conchords so much. They are so very sweet. I mean, they may secretly be bastards but I haven’t seen it. That was meant to be a compliment.

Hi, Nicole.
The FoC’s Philly show was amazing! Having only seen them in their HBO special, I was eager to experience their show live and they did NOT disappoint. They played to a sold-out Philly crowd who, save for a few obnoxious “yellers” (”HEY, THEY CAN HEAR ME! LET ME YELL ‘NEW ZEALAND’ THE WHOLE SHOW!”), were very friendly.
Even Bret and Jemaine seemed surprised at the enthusiastic response they received to songs like “Albi the Racist Dragon” (where the crowd sang along… loudly). Not only were the songs top-notch, but their banter was hilarious.

Jemaine read from a list of random “Philly facts” and the two of them used this as a jumping-off point for some very funny material: For instance, we learned that William Penn not only founded Philadelphia, but a writing implement called “The Penn”… which didn’t take off. Someone had already invented a “pen” with one “n”, so people just couldn’t be bothered.
Great show! I hope they liked playing in Philly, and I hope hey come back soon! I gotta go now… it’s Business Time. :)-Forresto
