The Associated Press sits the boys down and has them discuss some of their songs. I would like to know how they came up with “Angels” but alas, that song was not asked about. You can read and see the media (click on “Clips of the Conchords”) at centredaily.com.
TV — Faux-folk for kiwis
By RAY KUGLER - The Associated PressBret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement make up the farcical New Zealand band Flight of the Conchords. They really are Kiwis, and they can really play guitar, but neither of those traits are responsible for snagging a show on the premium of premium channels, HBO.No, McKenzie and Clement are comedians, giggle generators for the young and the urban. Their show is rather simple: They move to New York City from Down Under and try to adjust - through song. Really silly songs. Stupid, even. We might as well call them what they are: jokes.RAY KUGLER sat down with Flight of the Conchords and asked them to analyze some of the songs/jokes they perform on their new show, which premieres Sunday.Ray Kugler is the senior audiovisual reporter for asap. From: centredaily.com
