Conchords on TV3 NZ Tonight (9.29.06)

Looks like NZ will be highly entertained tonight as the Conchords will be on ‘Campbell Live!’ (9.29.06 NZ)
And you know it’ll be good because the show has an exclamation point at the end of it’s name.

Before we get too many comments about Campbell Live we’d just like to point out that neither The Hiphopopotamus or The Rhymenocerouz claimed that we were ‘ignored at home’. What the program is referring to is probably TVNZ turning down the show we wrote for them once. NZ audiences have always been excellent. We love you, and want to father your babies or mother them depending on your preference and family situation.

We don’t blame TVNZ for turning down our idea. In all honesty, it didn’t fit with their high quality, intriguing television programming such as ‘Top of The Class’.

TOP OF THE CLASS
It’s time to go back to school for six celebrities, as with six mini-me versions of themselves they compete to be Top of the Class. The team-mates head back to a Harry Potter-type school - a real school with real teachers, and a taciturn head-mistress (Elizabeth Hawthorne) - to compete in a reality game-show for fantastic prizes. Over 10 weeks, the stars and their partners take lessons from today and from the 1970s, when most of the celebrities were at school. It’s a clash of old-style teaching versus new - how will our celebrities cope with modern computer studies and hip hop classes? Can the kids survive in the 70s class without calculators and, more to the point, tolerate learning woodwork and folk-dancing?
