Sideswipe

Now that HBO has announced a series deal with New Zealand’s musical parody duo Flight of the Conchords, I wonder if TVNZ will buy it? When the Conchords approached TVNZ to do a series for them, GM of Commissioning Tony Holden blew them off for not being funny enough.

Sheesh, even their website is funny: “Flight of the Conchords have put up a website on the internet. A spokesman from the band said there was a five-year delay launching the website due to a ‘disagreement’. Apparently there was debate over how many times the letter ‘w’ should appear in the web address.
While Bret wanted four, making the domain name wwww.conchords.co.nz, Jemaine was vying for seven. t turns out that you’re only allowed three anyway.”
