New Conchords CD

This is so exciting for me personally because I really think this series is pure genius. Not just because of the guys’ performance but also because of Rhys Darby’s incredible Brian Nesbitt. Someone needs to make this into a tv show. Seriously.

For our readers outside of the UK (that would include me), you can buy the CD set at audiobookcollection.com or HMV UK.
What are you waiting for? Go on..

Thanks to Lucy and Peter at BBC Audiobooks! Thanks to Deirdre for the HMV link.

"No act has made me laugh as long or as hard as Flight of the Conchords. Their demolition of every pop-music and stand-up convention is so dry, merciless and charming that this year there has really been no-one to touch them"
- The Daily Telegraph

Released for the first time, the complete BBC Radio 2 series from Perrier award nominated duo Jemaine Clement and Bret Mckenzie, Flight of the Conchords.

The Conchords are New Zealand’s fourth best folk guitar-based jazz, techno, hip-hop duo. They have travelled the world and become one of the best-loved double acts on the circuit.

Over six episodes we follow their attempts to crack the UK’s novelty music scene with songs such as Frodo, Don’t Wear The Ring ("Magical Bling Bling"), Fudafafa, Hiphopapotamus and Think About It (Think, Think About It).
Largely improvised, it features Rob Brydon as their narrator, Rhys Darby as their manager and Jimmy Carr as a devoted fan called Kipper.

The Perrier nominated Flight of the Conchords are currently being developed for television by Channel 4.

About Flight of the Conchords:

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie were originally flatmates, living in Wellington, New Zealand. Bret was a keyboard player, but both flatmates decided they wanted to learn the guitar and started writing songs. They began performing in local productions around town.
Since then, total sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival 2002, 2003 and 2004 have made Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, aka the Flight of the Conchords, one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit. Gaining a cult following amongst comedians and audiences alike, by 2003 word of mouth had spread sufficiently for them to receive a Perrier nomination for the return show High on Folk. Lonely Knights was another immediate hit and a total sell-out at both the Edinburgh Festival and for its ten night run at London’s Soho Theatre.

Flight of the Conchords will be available from all good bookshops, online at www.bbcshop.com or by BBC Audiobooks direct mail on 0800 136 919.
