A Blurb in the NZ Listener

SUNDAY JULY 2
Flight of the Conchords, National Radio, 2.30pm. Wow, they’re playing our folk parody duo there. On the BBC. Why no one gave these guys a portable mini-disc and told them to make a programme in New Zealand is a mystery. But luckily, the Beeb saw fit to send Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement out into the wild and, over three months, with a coterie of stand-up comedians and actors, they improvised scenes and sang songs around Hyde Park, the Tower of London, Piccadilly Circus and the first-aid room of Broadcasting House. The series includes old favourites “Frodo, Don’t Wear the Ring”, “Boom” and “Robots”, produced by a guy who’s worked with Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada. Flash. Neil Finn has something to do with it, as do Rhys Darby and Greg Proops. British comedian Rob Brydon narrates.
